A Bit About Me
Hello, Hello! My name is Maddy Turner and I am a Mental Health Counselor. I received my Bachelor's Degree from University of California Los Angeles and my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Iowa. For the past few years I have been honored to support clients in accessing their own inner-strength and connecting to their self-worth. I have enjoyed working with adolescents and adults, and I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, body image concerns, and sports performance stress.
As a former collegiate athlete, I understand the unique needs of high school and college athletes navigating mental health challenges and their athletic identity. I value building a nonjudgmental space to support clients as they transform their struggles into a source of growth. I believe immensely in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and I have an easy-going, compassionate spirit to allow clients to feel comfortable and safe. The counseling theories and techniques I utilize include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapist (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Strengths-Based Approaches, as well as skills from RO-DBT and CBT. Wishing you well on your healing journey!
