Quad City Psychotherapy is excited to welcome Shauna Moreno to our team of clinicians. Shauna actually joined us with a full caseload in the early summer of 2023 but has expanded her schedule for the Fall and is currently taking new clients. As an intern, Shauna is able to see patients for a flat session fee of $25.
Shauna is a Masters-level Intern at Quad City Psychotherapy. She will receive a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2024. Prior to graduate school, Shauna earned an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Upon graduation, she entered the field of Human Resources and spent 10 years in Corporate America supporting the growth and development of employees as they moved through their careers. Shauna really enjoyed her experience in the corporate setting, but desired to support people on a deeper, more meaningful level.
Shauna's current work is grounded in psychodynamic theory, exploring early life experiences, attachment styles, and defensive mechanisms to help clients notice how past experiences often influence present behavior. This approach allows us to understand why we do the things we do and provides space for us to make intentional decisions that improve our relationships and lead to healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Shauna primarily works with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, low self-esteem, and those struggling with difficult life transitions. It is important to Shauna, that you feel heard, validated, and safe in the therapy space whether you meet in person or through telehealth. Making the decision to improve your well-being is a wonderful step and Shauna would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
Shauna is able to offer counseling services for $25 per session. Shauna is supervised by Annika O'Melia, the practice owner and licensed therapist. Shauna and Annika meet at least weekly to discuss diagnosis, treatment planning, and application of the best therapeutic interventions to help clients meet their goals.
